Candidate Insights enables Lever customers with AI-curated screening assessments and reference checks so you can identify top candidates early and engage with them sooner. Build a passive talent pool powered by real performance data on every applicant, and get a prioritized list of qualified candidates to speed up decision-making.

This feature is only available as an add-on for an additional cost, which will give you access to screens for a defined number of jobs (job tokens). For more information, please see AI Screening Companion Overview.

Enable Candidate Insights

To enable Candidate Insights, a Super Admin must complete the following steps. 

In Lever, navigate to Settings > AI Features > Screening Companion.

In the Candidate Insights powered by Probo Talent section, enable the Candidate Insights toggle.

Click Create ProboTalent account. You or the enabling user will be designated as the Executive Admin for the ProboTalent account. NOTE: This initiates provisioning of the ProboTalent account.

Configuring Candidate Insights in ProboTalent

This section details the configuration steps in ProboTalent that the Executive Admin from the Enable Candidate Insights will need to complete. 

Once ProboTalent has completed provisioning the account in your system, you will receive an email notification prompting you to complete the setup: 

  • Click Sign Up in the email notification from ProboTalent. Copy the value provided for Client ID and Client Secret, and store these securely

  • In Lever, navigate back to Settings > AI Features > Screening Companion and enter the Client ID and Client Secret provided by ProboTalent

Configuring Default Assessments in ProboTalent

Once you have completed your ProboTalent account setup, you can configure default assessments. 

Default assessments are configured in ProboTalent under Administration > Jobs.

  • Enable the Auto Create toggle to select default assessments

    • The default assessments will be generated and sent to candidates automatically when Candidate Insights is enabled on a job

Add Assessments to a Hiring Plan

In Lever, assessments are generated and sent on a per-job-posting basis. To enable ProboTalent screening assessments for a job posting, first create a job posting - see Creating and Managing Job Postings for more information. 

If required, complete posting approval, then publish/open the job - see Requesting job posting approval for more information.

On the Interview plan tab, enable the Candidate Insights toggle in the New Applicant stage of the Interview plan.

Once enabled, the job description is sent to ProboTalent to generate a custom set of assessments.

When the assessments have been generated, click View/Edit assessments to review, edit, and approve the assessment(s) in ProboTalent.

In ProboTalent, enable the Approve toggle for each assessment to approve.

Click Save and Next to approve the selected assessment(s).

 

Once assessments have been approved for a job posting the assessments cannot be edited. This ensures a unified experience across all candidates.

Editing Assessments in ProboTalent

This section covers editing assessments in ProboTalent as a continuation of Add Assessments to a Hiring Plan.

In ProboTalent, click the edit icon to open the list of questions associated with the selected assessment.

NOTE: You can view, edit, or delete questions within each assessment.

After selecting edit, you can make your edits in the Edit Question window.

Click Save after making changes to a question.

Create other assessments and/or delete the default assessments on a per-job posting basis.

Assessment Invites

This section reviews the candidate experience when they receive an assessment. 

When a candidate enters the New Applicant stage, generated assessments will be automatically emailed to the candidate for completion.

After clicking the Get Started link, candidates verify their email address and create a ProboTalent account.

After creating an account, click Start Assessment to begin the requested assessment.

If multiple assessments are requested, the candidate is navigated back to the Insights Assessment Progress dashboard after completing each assessment and must click the highlighted Start button until all assessments are completed.

Viewing Assessment Results

This section covers how to review a completed candidate assessment in Lever. 

In Lever, completed assessments are posted as a feedback form on the candidate profile as an overview of each assessment score. A link to view the full assessment report in ProboTalent is included at the bottom of the feedback card.

Viewing Full Assessment Report in ProboTalent

This section covers reviewing the full assessment in ProboTalent as a continuation of Viewing Assessment Results.

In ProboTalent, expand the Assessment Summary and click View Assessment Details to visualize candidate performance and responses in each assessment section.

Usage Limits

This section details the Candidate Insights usage limits. 

Each job with Candidate Insights enabled consumes one token immediately when it’s opened.

Every 60 days that a job remains open, another token is consumed (if available).

Usage will be tracked against the total available job tokens in a bundle, based on the number of postings that use Candidate Insights assessments. Once your account has reached its limit, the following will occur:

  • Settings - The feature usage tracker will reflect the limit that has been reached. You can click the Contact Account Manager button to request an upgrade to the usage limit (this button is always present regardless of the current usage).

  • Existing jobs - For existing jobs with Candidate Insights enabled, any candidates who were sent the assessments before the limit was reached can still complete their assessments if they haven’t already. Any new candidates will NOT be sent assessments to complete until the account has purchased additional usage.

  • New jobs - When creating a new job, you will still see the toggle for Candidate Insights, but you will be unable to enable it until the account has purchased additional usage.

Disable Candidate Insights

This section reviews how to disable the Candidate Insights feature within Lever. 

In Lever, navigate to Settings > AI Features > Screening Companion
