This article depicts and describes Lever's Visual Insights Dashboard Templates in Data Explorer enhancement scheduled to rollout progressively in September 2024. For release information, refer to our Summer 2024 Product Release page.

For recruiters or talent leaders, manually building or tailoring dashboards to track key metrics like postings, candidate pipelines, and talent summaries can be cumbersome. Visual Insights dashboard templates allow users to easily enhance and customize existing dashboards in Data Explorer while retaining the functionality and design of the original Visual Insights experience.

What are dashboard templates?

Visual Insights dashboard templates allow you to copy from standard Visual Insights dashboards. In Data Explorer, you can personalize these dashboard templates by adding, removing, and rearranging tiles, or by combining key charts from Lever's out of the box Visual Insights dashboards into a new dashboard tailored to meet your team's specific reporting needs.

Beginning in Summer 2024, Lever will be releasing standard Visual Insights dashboard templates in waves. Not all Visual Insights dashboards are available as a template at this time.

Accessing dashboard templates

To access Visual Insights dashboard templates...

  • Navigate to Visual Insights via the platform header

Close up of platform header with Visual Insights tab selected.

  • Click the chevron (>) on the left side of the page
  • Click Data Explorer and select any data set from the dropdown available
  • Click the folder icon in the top-right corner of the builder

Saving charts from dashboard templates

You can also use dashboard templates to create copies of pre-built Visual Insights charts. From here, you can easily copy this over to a custom dashboard, or edit and save the chart as a custom Look.

As a best practice, we recommend saving all charts as Looks before adding them to dashboards if you plan to make any edits to the default chart settings and visuals. In the event that a custom dashboard is mistakenly deleted, you can easily rebuild it using your saved Looks.

Copying charts

To copy from an existing chart:

  • Navigate to the Visual Insights dashboard template you'd like to copy from
  • Locate the chart you wish to copy
  • Select the three-dot ellipsis ⠇and then 'Explore from here'

To save the chart directly to a new or existing dashboard:

  • From the chart builder view, click the gear icon (⚙) in the upper-right corner then click 'Save'

  • If saving 'As a new dashboard'...
    • You will be prompted to name the new dashboard, and select which folder to save it to
  • If saving 'To an existing dashboard'...
    • You will be prompted to name the chart, and select which dashboard to save it to
