Enable and Use the Maki Integration

The Maki integration with Lever helps teams seamlessly invite candidates to take Maki assessments. Results are added to the Lever opportunity, along with a link to the candidate's profile in Maki. For more information, refer to the Maki website


Set up the Maki Integration

 

You must be a team or organization with admin rights in Maki to install this integration.

Navigate to the integration page in Maki.

Locate and select the Lever (native) card.

Click the Lever (native) integration tile to begin the connection process.

On the prompt, log in to your Lever admin account. 

Review the list of requested permissions and click Accept to authorize the integration. 

Click Confirm and configure the webhook to confirm the connection and proceed with the webhook configuration. 

Configure the Maki Integration

Set up the Webhook

In Lever, navigate to Settings > Integrations and API > Webhooks.

Scroll down to the Candidate Stage Change webhook section

Click + Add Webhook to create a new webhook.

Copy the Webhook URL from Maki and paste it into the webhook URL field in Lever. 

Copy the Signature token from Lever and paste it into the Webhook Signature field in Maki.

In Maki, select the stage that should trigger the Maki assessment (e.g., "Maki").

Click Save Webhook Config to apply the webhook settings. 

Configure Jobs

In Maki, navigate to the desired assessment page.

Locate the Maki assessment ID in the assessment page URL

Copy the assessment ID from the URL

In Lever, open the desired job posting.

Add a tag to your job using the following format: Maki:{{yourAssessmentId}}

  • See example below (Maki:8f672542-7517-4b27-a3b9-48641a3f75d8)

Click Save Changes

Using the Maki integration

Invite Candidates

In Lever, move the desired candidate to the trigger stage as configured in Maki. 

The integration will add two new tags to the candidate's opportunity record in Lever, indicating a successful integration.

Review Results

Once candidates complete their assessments, you can review results directly in Lever.

Tags

Maki will update the candidate's tags in Lever. The assessment stage tag will change to "Maki: completed (assessmentId)".

Additional tags may appear based on enabled Maki features (e.g., Workflow threshold, hiring manager decisions).

Links

Two scorecards will be added to the candidate's opportunity in Lever:

  1. A recruiter scorecard
  2. A candidate scorecard

Additionally, a link to the candidate's Maki profile page will be included.

Note

A detailed note will be added to the candidate's opportunity record in Lever, containing the following details:

  • The global assessment result
  • Individual scores for each activity

Disabling the Maki integration

In Lever, navigate to Settings > Integrations and API.

Under the Authorized Apps tab, locate the Maki app.

Click Revoke access to disable the integration.
