Enabling and using the Mr. Simon integration

The Mr. Simon integration with Lever provides you with insightful automated AI resume assessment and screening interviews. The screening results are synced back to Lever for quick candidate evaluation and the Mr. Simon process can be fully integrated into your Lever stages and workflow. Setting up the Mr. Simon integration

 

You must be a team or organization with Hiring Manager user rights in Mr. Simon to install this integration.
  • Log in to your Mr. Simon account and click your name icon on the top right
  • Click Integrations

  • On the Integrations page, locate the Lever tile
  • Click Connect to connect Lever to your Mr. Simon account

  • On the prompt, log in to your Lever admin account. 
  • Review the list of requested permissions and click Accept to authorize the integration. 
    • Mr. Simon will request access to the information listed below to import the necessary candidate data, update Lever fields like notes and move a candidate to a new stage after completing the Mr. Simon part of your hiring process.

  • Congratulations! The connection between Mr. Simon and Lever is active!

Configuring the Mr. Simon integration

Complete the following steps to configure the integration with Lever.

Configure Webhooks

  • In Lever, navigate to Settings > Integrations and API > Webhooks
  • Toggle the following webhooks to the on position to enable (if they are not already enabled on your account):
    • Application created: New applicants and newly created candidates assigned to jobs configured in Mr. Simon (with matching import filter criteria) will automatically be added to Mr. Simon. 
    • Candidate stage change: Every time a candidate’s stage is changed in Lever the candidate stage change event is triggered. If that stage is part of the import filter criteria*  the candidate will automatically be added to Mr Simon.
    • Candidate deleted: Deleting candidates in Lever will also delete them from Mr. Simon.

The Mr. Simon filter criteria setup is described later in this help article.

Using the Mr. Simon integration

Now you are ready to start importing your applicants so Mr. Simon can evaluate the applicant resumes and conduct initial screening interviews.

Importing applicants

  • In Mr. Simon, select a job. 

  • Click Add Candidates

  • Click the Import button listed next to the Lever integration

  • Choose the Lever job you want to match to the job in Mr. Simon.
    • If you do not see the job you are looking for in the drop-down list click sync jobs to ensure you have the most updated list.

Optional settings

  • Filter by Stages: Use the Filter by Stages setting to only import applicants from a specific Lever stage or stages.
    • If you do not see the stage you are looking for in the drop-down list click sync stages to ensure you have the most updated list.

  • Filter by Tags: Use the Filter by Tags setting to only import applicants with a specific Lever tag or tags.
    • If you do not see the tags you are looking for in the drop-down list click sync tags to ensure you have the most updated list.

  • Lever workflow settings: One additional optional setting allows you to configure the Lever stage that the applicant is automatically moved to once the Mr. Simon screening process is complete.

  • Once you have configured your applicant import settings click Save

  • Click the Import button to complete the process.
  • To edit your import settings just click Settings on the add candidates screen.

Mr. Simon will automatically import any applicants that meet your import criteria and will continue to import any new applicants that meet your selections approximately every 30 mins thereafter.

Imported applicant resumes will be immediately evaluated. New applicants will appear on the Mr. Simon job page.

Candidates imported from Lever are indicated with a Lever logo. 

When a candidate is imported from Lever a new note is added to the Lever candidate opportunity that includes a custom invite link for a screening interview and a direct link to the Candidate’s screening scorecard in Mr. Simon.

  • To invite a candidate to a screening interview, copy the unique candidate invite link and include it in an email to the candidate.

Viewing a candidate’s Mr. Simon Scorecard

  • To see detailed information regarding a candidate’s screening performance, click the Mr. Simon candidate profile link in Lever to view the Candidate’s Scorecard and detailed analysis.

  • The Scorecard shows the overall candidate assessment as well as links to the detailed resume and interview analysis.

Reviewing Mr. Simon updates in Lever

As a candidate moves through the Mr Simon screening steps, Lever is updated with key information.

Upon importing the candidate from Lever to Mr Simon a new note appears on the candidate page with a unique interview link and a link to the Candidate’s Mr. Simon scorecard.

Once the resume evaluation is complete a new note is added with the applicant’s resume score.

A result tags is also added in Lever with the resume score.

When the interview step has been completed a new note is added with the applicant’s overall score.

Additional results tags that include the interview score as well as the overall score are added to the candidate opportunity in Lever.

Disabling the Mr. Simon integration

In Mr. Simon

  1. On the Integrations page you will see Lever listed with a button to Disconnect
  2. Click Disconnect to disable the integration with Lever

In Lever

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations and API
  2. Under the Authorized Apps tab, locate the Mr. Simon app
  3. Click Revoke access to disable the integration
