Setting Signals and Scoring with Speak_
Edit Signals
- In Speak_, click Edit to open the Job where you’ll configure your signals.
Add a Signal
- Click Add a signal.
Write the Signal
- Input a 'Signal Name' - this is a quick summary or title for the signal you’re going to use for evaluation.
- Enter the 'Signal Description'. Think of this as taking notes from your hiring team and sharing them with a teammate. The AI works best with clear, affirmative statements. Avoid using “and” “if” or “or” - break those into separate signals. Here are some good starters:
- “We’re looking for a candidate who…”
- “An ideal candidate would have…”
- “When I was talking to the hiring manager, they mentioned this candidate needs…"
Set the Weight
- Assign a weight to your signal from 1-10:
- 1 means not very important
- 10 means critically important for the role
Mark as Required (Optional)
- You can mark a signal as required. This will flag candidates who don’t meet this criterion with a red flag. While it affects their score, it’s more about the visual cue than drastically changing their score.
A complete signal will look like this:
Save and Score
- Once you’ve configured the signals, click Save to return to the job window.
- From there, click Score This Job to start evaluating your talent pipeline.
By following these steps within the Speak_ platform, you’ll ensure your signals are effective and your candidate evaluations are top-notch.
Using the Speak_ integration
Using Bulk Actions in Speak_
Bulk Actions in Speak_ allow users to efficiently manage and move candidates through their hiring pipeline. This feature is particularly useful when you need to take action on multiple candidates at once, such as advancing or archiving. Here's how to use Bulk Actions to streamline your workflow.
1. Score Your Candidates
Before you can use Bulk Actions, ensure your candidates have been scored using Speak_'s AI-powered resume scoring system. This will help you quickly identify the most qualified candidates based on your custom signals.
2. Set Filters to Refine Candidate List
To manage your candidates efficiently, use filters to display only those who meet specific criteria. For example, if you want to archive candidates who scored below a certain threshold, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Candidate List: Go to the list of candidates for a particular job.
- Set the Score Filter: Use the filter options to display only candidates within a specific score range. For instance, you can set the filter to show candidates with scores from 0% to 75%.
3. Select Candidates
Once your list is filtered, select the desired candidates.
Clicking the 'Select All' checkbox at the top of the list will select all displayed candidates. This includes all candidates that match the filter criteria.
4. Choose a Bulk Action
After selecting the candidates, you can choose an action from the dropdown menu to apply to all selected candidates. The dropdown menu reflects the stages of your hiring process (imported from Lever), including 'Archived'.
To bulk archive candidates, choose 'Archived' from the dropdown menu.
5. Add a Note (Optional)
When archiving candidates, you have the option to add a note that will be added to the Lever opportunity This helps maintain a clear record of actions taken. To add a note:
- Click Add Note: After selecting 'Archive' you will see an option to add a note.
- Enter Your Note: For example, you might write "Under score threshold on Speak_."
6. Apply the Bulk Action
Finally, click Apply or the equivalent button to execute the selected bulk action. All selected candidates will be archived, and any notes added will be saved in Lever.
Best Practices
- Regularly Review Candidates: Use Bulk Actions regularly to keep your candidate pipeline organized and up-to-date.
- Customize Notes: Be specific in your notes to provide clear reasons for your actions, helping your team understand the context of decisions.
- Utilize Filters: Take full advantage of the filtering options to efficiently manage large volumes of candidates.
By following these steps, you can streamline your hiring process, save time, and ensure a more organized candidate management experience within Speak_.
