Coferral’s integration with Lever enables you to seamlessly list your open roles on Coferral and quickly fill them with top-tier candidates recommended by their colleagues. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for connecting Coferral to Lever and maximizing the benefits of Coferral’s referral-only sourcing. For more information refer to the Coferral website.
Setting up the Coferral integration

You must be a team or organization with admin rights in Coferral to install this integration. |
Connecting Lever to Coferral
- Go to www.coferral.com/hiring to create a Coferral Account.
- Click Start Hiring.
- Create a Coferral account as a Hiring Company.
Establish the Integration
- Log into your Coferral account.
- Click ATS Integration on the left sidebar.
- On the Authorization tab, click Connect on the Lever by employ tile.
- Sign in to your Lever Admin account to authorize the integration.
- Review the list of requested permissions and click Accept to authorize the integration.
- Verify that you can see 'Connected to the Lever ATS' on the Authorization tab.
- Review the prompt requesting verification of the webhook configuration within Lever.
Configuring the Coferral integration
Configure Webhooks
- In Lever, navigate to Settings > Integrations and API > Webhooks.
- Toggle on the 'Candidate Stage Change' and 'Candidate Hired' webhooks if they are not enabled.
Using the Coferral integration
Importing Job Listings to Coferral
- In Coferral, click Import Jobs to import your company’s public job listings from Lever.
- Navigate to the Imported Jobs tab to view the listings.
Update Listings in Coferral
- In Coferral, job listings highlighted in beige require updates; those in green are ready to post.
- Update job listings by clicking in the applicable field box and typing the correct value or choosing it from the dropdown.
- Click the eye icon () under 'Actions' to update the required Job Description details if the listing remains beige.
Posting Jobs in Coferral
- Check the box next to green-highlighted Job titles and click Post to Coferral.
- Look for a "Success" message after posting.
- Verify your posted job listings by navigating to Jobs > Active on the left sidebar.
Payment
- In Coferral, click the stripe icon () under 'Actions' to pay for your posting.
- Unpaid job listings will appear with a Status of "Pending".
- Complete a final review of the job listing and click Pay.
- Complete the Stripe payment process.
- Verify that the job status is now "Active".
Adding Candidates to Lever
Coferral’s expert referral network will refer pre-vetted candidates to your Lever account. These candidates have submitted interest in the role and have been identified by their colleagues as being in the top 10% of their network.
Candidates referred via Coferral will automatically be added as a new opportunity in Lever with 'coferral' listed as the source.
Each candidate referred through Coferral will include a cover note in the opportunity 'Notes' tab detailing the referrer’s credibility and the candidate’s suitability.
Hiring and Payment
- When creating an Offer in Lever, the 'Offered Compensation Amount' will be the basis for Coferral’s invoice upon the candidate's hire.
- When the candidate stage is changed to 'Hired' in Lever, the job listing in Coferral will be moved from Jobs to Hires.
- Click the Pay icon to initiate the Stripe payment process in Coferral.
- Download the invoice by clicking the Download icon.
- View the invoice details by clicking View invoice and payment details

As of this publication, the Coferral fee is 3.5% of the Offered Compensation Amount in the candidate’s accepted job offer. |
- Complete the invoice payment using the Stripe payment option of your choice.
Account Management
The credentials used to create a Coferral account will serve as the admin account for your company in Coferral.

Disabling the Coferral integration
In Coferral
- Navigate to ATS Integration on the left sidebar.
- Click Disconnect underneath the message of 'Connected to the Lever ATS'.
In Lever
- In Lever navigate to Settings > Integrations and API
- Under the Authorized Apps tab, locate the Coferral
- Click Revoke access to disable the integration
