Enabling and using the Dover integration

The Dover integration adds candidates sourced by Dover to Lever, assigns them to the proper role, and keeps track of them through the hiring process. It also helps to prevent Dover from reaching out to candidates with whom you are already in contact.

Setup the integration:

Navigate to app.dover.io/setup/company and select ATS Settings

On the Select an ATS dropdown menu, select Lever

Select Connect to Lever. This will redirect you to a landing page to authorize Dover’s connection to your Lever account.

Select Connect to Lever. Log in and click Allow to grant Dover access.

Once this is complete, you will see a confirmation screen.

Step Two: Set Up an Individual Job

Navigate to app.dover.io/jobs and click Setup next to the job you are onboarding.

Provide the job name as it appears in your Lever (this must match exactly in order for the integration to work).

Select the stages in your Lever interview plan that should correspond to the stages in Dover’s ATS (more details below).

Click Save and Next at the bottom of the page to continue with the remainder of job setup.

How to use the integration:

What information is added to Lever?

Through the integration, candidates sourced by Dover will be automatically added to Lever along with contact information, LinkedIn profiles, events scheduled by Dover, and the email correspondence. 

When do candidates get added?

By default, Dover will add outbound candidates to Lever when they respond to outreach messages. Contact your Dover Engagement Manager in slack, or reach out to support@dover.com, if you would like all candidates added.

If Dover sets up postings on job boards on your behalf, candidates who apply directly to the job will be added to Lever when approved for scheduling in Dover.

Where can I find the information I need?

You can view a candidate’s contact information and LinkedIn profile in the left-hand sidebar in Lever.

You can also navigate from Dover to Lever by viewing a candidate’s profile in the Dover portal and clicking on the ATS link.

Does Dover support Lever Easy Book Links and Feedback Forms?

While the Dover integration does not utilize Lever easy book links, it will automatically add a note to the candidate profile when a call is booked using a Dover scheduling link.

After your call with a candidate, Dover will send you an email with a link to the Lever URL where you can fill in feedback. All you need to do is click the 3 dots > Add Feedback to submit feedback to Lever.

What stages does Dover set for candidates?

The Dover integration moves candidates through the various stages of your interview plan

When candidates are added prior to scheduling, we add them to the New Lead stage. Once approved for scheduling in Dover, the integration will move them into whatever stage you choose as the first step of your interview plan.

If you reject a candidate, or if they respond to Dover outreach as not interested, they will be archived. If the candidate replies and they are not interested, they will be archived with the reason Timing. If they are rejected by you in Dover, they will be archived with the reason Underqualified. If you update stages or status in the Dover portal, the integration will sync those changes back to Lever. 

What does Dover track from Lever?

Dover will track how far candidates make it in Lever back into Dover and provide you with metrics on how the Dover search is performing.

  • Lever Stage: Recruiter Screen/Initial Call/etc. → Dover stage:Initial Call
  • Lever Stage: Hiring manager screen/Technical Phone Screen/Take home, etc. → Dover Stage: Pre-onsite
  • Lever Stage: Onsite/Face-to-Face/Executive Review, etc. → Dover Stage: Onsite
  • Lever Stage: Offer → Dover Stage: Offer

NOTE: It may take up to a day to sync the Lever state back to Dover.

How to disable the integration:

1. Navigate to your Integrations & API Settings Page in Lever

2. Under the Authorized Apps tab locate the Dover app

3. Click Revoke Access to disable the integration
