Setting up the Sequoia People Platform integration

You must be a team or organization with full access (admin) rights in Sequoia People Platform to install this integration from the Sequoia HRX.
  • Log into Sequoia HRX
  • Go to Settings Integrations
  • Click on the ATS tab
  • Click Add Integration

  • Go to the Lever tile
  • Click Add Integration > ATS
  • Read the Terms and Conditions document, and click Accept and Continue

    • Enter an Integration Name: For example: ACME Limited-Lever Integration 1. This will be useful in case your organization integrates more than one Lever account with your Sequoia account.
    • Enter Job IDs: Use this only if you would like to limit the integration to pulling candidate data from specific jobs on Lever. Enter the Lever Job IDs separated by commas.
      • Click on the info icon to know how to identify your Lever Job IDs

Leave this field blank if you want to pull candidate data from all active jobs on Lever.
  • Click Activate

  • The Lever authentication flow will now begin in a separate window
  • On the modal, log into Lever

  • Review the list of requested permissions and click Accept

  • You will see an Integration Successful pop-up to confirm that the integration has been successfully activated

Configuring the Sequoia People Platform integration

  • In Sequoia, go to Settings Integrations > ATS > Lever > More > Edit Integration

Mapping all Location and Department fields is mandatory to ensure successful sync operations.
  • Go to Edit Configuration > Data Mapping

Location Data Mapping

Map pre-configured location fields on Lever to pre-configured location fields on Sequoia. This mapping is critical since location fields on Lever might be named differently from those on Sequoia.

  • Once in Data Mapping, click View next to Location Data Mapping
  • Click Unmapped
  • You can see the locations on Lever in the Source Locations columns
  • Map Sequoia location fields to each Lever location field, by selecting from the drop-down in the Map Location column
  • Once you have mapped all Lever Locations to Sequoia Locations, click Save Changes in the bottom right corner
  • Your successfully mapped locations will appear in the Mapped Codes section

Department Data Mapping

Map pre-configured department fields on Lever to pre-configured department fields on Sequoia. This mapping is critical since department fields on Lever might be named differently from those on Sequoia.

  • Once in Data Mapping, click View next to Department Data Mapping
  • Click Unmapped
  • You can see the departments on Lever in the Source Departments columns
  • Map Sequoia departments fields to each Lever location field, by selecting from the drop-down in the Map Departments column
  • Once you have mapped all Lever Departments to Sequoia Departments, click Save Changes in the bottom right corner
  • Your successfully mapped departments will appear in the Mapped Codes section

Configure Field Mapping

This section is applicable in case you have custom fields in Sequoia that you want setup for pulling Lever data into.

  • Go to Edit Configuration > Field Mapping
  • Click Unmapped
  • You will see your Sequoia custom fields in highlighted font in the first column
  • Go to the Source Field column, search, and select the field in Lever that you want to map to the custom field
  • Once you’ve finished mapping Lever fields to your chosen Sequoia Custom Fields, click Save Changes in the bottom right corner
  • You will see your successfully mapped custom fields in the Mapped section

Manual Sync Trigger

While the integration pulls data from Lever into Sequoia once every 24 hours, you might face a situation wherein you don’t want to wait for the next day. In such cases you can trigger a manual sync from Lever to Sequoia. To do this, click Sync Now on the top right area of the configuration page at any time.

You should be able to see the latest candidate data within 1 hour of triggering a manual sync.

View Run Status

Click Run Status to view the status of all sync operations (automated and manual).

Sync operations will fail if there are any Unmapped Location or Department fields. Ensure that there are no unmapped data fields, under Data Mapping.

Using the Sequoia People Platform integration

Here is how the integration works once you have successfully set it up:

  • In Lever, move the candidate opportunity into the 'Offer' stage

  • When the daily sync occurs, all candidates in the Lever 'Offer stage' will be synced to the Sequoia Candidate Offers module
  • In Sequoia, navigate to Compensation > Offers > Candidates to find your Lever Offer stage candidate(s)
  • Search for the specific candidate you want to send an offer to
  • You will see a preview of the candidate's Name, Department & Location based on the data mapping you configured earlier

  • To create an offer for the candidate, click Create Offer under the Actions column and select between Use Template or Start New
  • In the personal detail section of the offer, you will see the candidate's name, email ID, phone number, department and location pre-filled

  • Complete the rest of the offer details, and shoot your attractive total rewards offer to your candidate!
