Built In's Easy Apply allows candidates to apply directly through Built In without the additional step of navigating to your company's careers page. To enable this feature, you will need to provide Built In with your Lever API key. For the latest information, visit Built In's knowledge base article on setting up Easy Apply with Lever.

Setting up the Built In Easy Apply integration

You must be a team or organization with admin rights in Built In to install this integration.

Step 1: Access your Lever API Key

  • To generate API credentials, navigate to Settings > Integrations and API > API Credentials
  • Click Generate New Key

  • Under the Permissions heading, select the checkboxes next to these specific read and write endpoints:
    • Read Endpoints:
      • Read Posting
      • Read Posting Apply Form
    • Write Endpoints:
      • Apply To Posting

Confidential Data access is not required for this integration.
  • Copy the provided API key and submit it to Built In.

This API key will remain unchanged unless it is manually reset. If you ever reset the Lever API key after you have used it to create a custom job site, you will need to update the key on the backend of your custom job site.

Step 2: Submit your Lever API Key to Built In

If you are a new Built In customer and currently working with an Implementation Manager (IM), submit your Lever API Key directly to your Built In Implementation Manager. They will configure Easy Apply for you.

If you are not currently working with a Built In Implementation Manager, copy and paste your API Key into Built In's Easy Apply submission form.

Built In will enable Easy Apply for your Built In account and contact you when complete.

All custom application questions that are set up within Lever for each job will appear on each Built In Easy Apply job application form except for the university picker question which is not supported at this time.

Disabling the Built In Easy Apply integration

  1. In Lever navigate to Settings > Integrations and API
  2. Under the API Credentials tab, locate the Built In API credentials
  3. Click the trash can icon to disable the integration
