Enabling and using the Covey integration

Covey helps teams focus on the best candidates in their hiring pipeline with plain-language AI resume screening and outreach. This integration brings Covey's advanced Generative AI directly into Lever, allowing busy talent teams to build AI bots to execute their recruiting strategy. Setting up the Covey integration

 

You must be a team or organization with admin rights in Covey to install this integration.

 

This integration may require the creation of a Lever integration service user account. Please speak with the Covey team for more information.  
  • In Covey, navigate to the Settings page: https://getcovey.com/account/company/settings
  • Under ATS Type, select Lever if it is not already selected
  • Click Connect ATS to be directed to Lever
  • On the modal, log into Lever using your Lever admin account

  • On the modal, log into Lever using your Lever admin account

  • Review the list of requested scopes and click Accept to grant Covey access to Lever and complete the integration

  • Upon success, the page will redirect back to Covey
  • To verify that integration was successful, navigate back to the Settings page in Covey and check for the Connected indicator

You will work directly with Covey on a live onboarding session to configure the integration.

Using the Covey integration

Sync jobs into Covey

Once the integration is enabled, Covey will automatically sync jobs and link them to Covey projects.

Screen applicants

  • (Scout) Once the integration is enabled, a Scout Intake form has been submitted, and a Scout bot has been created, Covey will automatically screen relevant applicants and generate a view for users to act on the opportunities.
    • Tags will be added to opportunities that have been interacted with.
    • Users can move opportunities to another stage, archive opportunities, or message candidates (see Email candidates).

Source candidates

  • (Scout) Once the integration is enabled, a Scout Intake form has been submitted, and a Scout bot has been created, Covey will automatically source best-fit candidates and handle setting up and sending personalized messages.
    • Tags will be added to opportunities created via Covey.
    • Covey will be added as the source.
    • Covey will show ATS status.
  • (Non-Scout) With the Chrome Extension, users can source their own candidates.
    • Extension will indicate if an existing candidate is detected.
    • Extension will show ATS status if candidate exists in Covey and Lever.
    • Extension can be used to mark if a candidate has been messaged via InMail.

Email candidates

Once email has been configured in Covey, emails sent to candidates via Covey will be synced to Lever as notes.

Integration Updates

For Scout-related opportunities, Scout-specific tags will be added:

Note that 'covey_scout_accepted' and 'covey_scout_rejected' tags are job-specific and appended with the job id.

If a candidate is reached out via Covey:

  • The Origin will be 'Sourced'
  • 'Covey' will be listed as a Source
  • The opportunity will be set to the 'Reached Out' stage in Lever

When the candidate responds, the opportunity will be moved to the Responded stage in Lever.

If a candidate is marked messaged via LinkedIn InMail in Covey:

  • The Origin will be 'Sourced'
  • 'Covey' will be listed as a Source
  • The opportunity will be set to the 'Reached Out' stage in Lever

Resumes from Covey will be uploaded to Lever.

If candidate is marked as messaged via LinkedIn, a note is added to the Lever opportunity.

 

If an opportunity undergoes a stage change or is archived, those actions will be shown as profile stories in Lever.

Disabling the Covey integration

  1. In Lever navigate to Settings > Integrations and API
  2. Under the Authorized Apps tab, locate the Covey app
  3. Click Revoke access to disable the integration
