Resolving Zoom errors on Easy Book events

Lever's integration with Zoom is fully integrated with Lever's Easy Book tool, making it easy for candidates to schedule time directly to the interviewers’ calendars complete with a Zoom link for remote 1:1 interviews. Less time spent scheduling means your team has more time to find and hire the best candidates.  To learn more about this integration, refer to our help article on enabling and using the Zoom integration.

There are a few cases where unexpected errors may occur when scheduling interviews with a Zoom link. Refer to the information below for guidance on how to resolve common Zoom errors.

Error messaging

In the case that there is an error generating the Zoom link, the candidate calendar event will be generated, and prompt the candidate to confirm the exact location for the interview with the company.

Interviewer view

In the case that there is an error generating the Zoom link, the interviewer's calendar event will clearly indicate that there is required action to resolve Zoom link generation error. 

  • The event description will begin with "[Action Required]"
  • The location field will contain "Unable to add Zoom link"
  • The event description will provide the specific error that occurred.  Please continue down the page for each Error case, and how to troubleshoot.

Error cases and how to resolve

"Setup Required"

Cause for error: The Zoom Oauth process has not been completed, or the token was revoked from Zoom

Resolution: Navigate to Settings > Integrations and API in your Lever account. If the Zoom integration toggle is orange, complete the authorization with SSO or by sharing the link with the Zoom admin to authorize. If the Zoom integration toggle is green, revoke the access and re-authorize the integration.

"User Not Found"

Cause for error: The host of the meeting is currently set to be a host that does not have a Zoom account.

Resolution: Create a Zoom account for that person, or navigate to Settings > Integrations and API in your Lever account update existing Zoom host logic.

"Host Selection Required"

Cause for error: The Zoom integration is enabled, however Zoom host logic has not yet been configured. 

Resolution: Navigate to Settings > Integrations and API in your Lever account and update existing Zoom host logic.

"No available host"

Cause for error: The person who is hosting the Zoom meeting already has another Zoom meeting scheduled at that time

Resolution: Reschedule the interview to a time where the Zoom host does not have a conflicting Zoom meeting. Alternately, you can navigate to Settings > Integrations and API in your Lever account and update existing Zoom host logic.

"Permission denied"

Cause for error:  There is an error fetching required data via Lever's Zoom integration

Resolution: Contact Lever support.

"General Error"

Cause for error: This is caused by any error not outlined above and requires investigation by Lever Support.

Resolution: Contact Lever support.
