Enabling Slack notifications

Never forget about an upcoming interview or pending feedback with Lever’s Slack notifications. Easily configure interview alerts and quick feedback surveys to be sent directly to your Slack account within 10 minutes of an interview.

Enabling and configuring the Slack integration

In order to enable interview alerts and quick feedback surveys, you must first have enabled the Slack integration in your Lever instance. To enable the Slack integration:

• In Lever, navigate to Settings > Integrations and API
• Click to expand the Slack integration tile under the 'Partner integrations' heading
• Click the Add to Slack button
• Sign in to your Slack workspace and proceed with authentication

Once the Slack integration is enabled, proceed to add channels to sync with the integration.

Note, private channels and private message groups will not appear in this list by default. To add them you must invite the Lever Slack Bot to the private channel or private message group. To do this:

• Navigate to the private Slack channel or private message group that you would like to add to Lever
• Invite the Lever Bot to the group by typing "/invite @lever" into the message box; alternatively, you can @mention the bot within a message to the private channel
• Return to the Slack integration tile in Lever and click the Sync Slack Channels button
• The private channel will now appear in the list of available Slack Channels, and you can enable/disable them in the same way that you do for the public channels

Enabling Slack notifications

Once the Slack integration is enabled and channels have been added/synced, any user in your Lever instance can enable interview alerts via their personal account settings:

• Navigate to Settings > My account
• Select the notification checkboxes under the 'Slack notifications' heading

Interview reminders

The user will be notified in Slack 10 minutes before an upcoming interview. The notification in Slack will contain the following information:

• (1) Name of candidate and link to the interviewer's feedback form (which displays the resume)
• (2) Name of feedback form
• (3) Time of interview
• (4) Location of interview
• (5) Contact information for the candidate
• (6) Link to the interviewer's feedback form instructions (which displays the resume)

To view the candidate’s interview instructions, simply click on Resume and Interview Info in the Slack notification. You will be redirected to Lever, where you can view additional candidate information.

Quick feedback surveys

If you have yet to begin your feedback 10 minutes after an interview has ended, a Slack notification will be sent via direct message from a Lever Slack Bot. Only one quick feedback survey will be sent per interview. This message will include the following information:

• Name of candidate
• Name of feedback form
• Ability to complete your 1 – 4 score rating
• Link to feedback form in Lever
