The unified pipeline in your Lever environment is divided into sections and stages that reflect the different phases and points in the candidate journey.

How pipeline stages work

Stages are used to visually organize the opportunities in your pipeline, based on candidates' progression through your recruitment funnel. Stages are listed horizontally along the top of the opportunity list, which you can access via the Candidates tab in your platform header. Selecting a stage will filter the list to show only opportunities within that stage.

Stages can also have a functional bearing on interview scheduling. If a candidate's opportunity is associated with a posting that contains an interview plan, the interviewers, interview event durations, and feedback forms configured for that stage can be auto-populated when the interview is scheduled. If an opportunity is in a stage in the Interview section of the pipeline, and an interview has yet to be scheduled with that candidate, a call-to-action button will appear on the opportunity prompting you to do so.

Stages can also factor into the execution criteria for surveys, automation workflows, and integrations. For example, the Candidate Experience Survey can be configured such that it is only sent to archived candidates whose opportunities reach or surpass a specific stage in your pipeline. Or consider another example in which you configure the integration with your reference check platform to only initiate a check when a candidate reaches the 'Reference Check' stage in your pipeline.

Stages also serve to structure the data on many of your Visual Insights dashboards. Metrics such as time spent in stage and stage conversion rates show you the volume and speed of opportunities as they move through your pipeline. Moving candidates between pipeline stages

You can move a candidate to a different stage in your pipeline by opening their opportunity profile and selecting a new stage from the stage menu.

You can also move multiple candidates at a time by bulk-selecting opportunities in the opportunity list and selecting a new stage from the stage menu in the bulk action toolbar.

Customizing pipeline stages

Users with the Super Admin role or a role provisioned with the 'Manage pipeline stages' permission can add, deactivate, reactivate, reorder, and rename the stages in their pipeline via their Settings. Note that in order to ensure that your recruitment data is properly structured, certain stages cannot be customized.
