Each dashboard in Visual Insights has the same basic layout. Refer to the image below to identify the fundamental dashboard elements and read on for a description of each.

Pipeline dashboard with filters, charts, bookmarks, and metric categories circled and numbered.

(1) Filters

Any filters that can be applied to the data sets visualized on the dashboard can be found listed horizontally above the charts. Clicking a filter will reveal the attributes you can filter by as well the operator you can use to define them (e.g. the "is in range" operator can be used in conjunction with date inputs to filter data for a specific period of time).

Close-up of data range filter with logical operator menu open.

Not all dashboards use the same filters. Also note that some filters require an input in order to visualize data on the dashboard. The three buttons to the upper right of the filters bar can be used as follows:

  • Click the reload button (⟳) to refresh the dashboard after you have input filter parameters. The data visualized on the dashboard will not reflect your filters until you click this button.
  • Click the filter button to hide/reveal the filter bar.
  • Click the dashboard actions button (⠇) to reveal options to download raw data from the dashboard or reset filters.

To learn more, refer to our help article on dashboard filters.

(2) Charts

Charts can be found in the body of the dashboard, below the filters bar. Single value charts are typically arranged horizontally along the top of the dashboard followed by multi-value charts of varying types. Note that, when navigating a dashboard, the charts are contained within an embedded window that can be scrolled through separate from the main window. Hover your cursor over the charts in the body of the dashboard and scroll to view charts further down.

Clicking on a value in any chart will bring up a sub-window with a table containing the records associated with the events, measurements or objects in the data set contributing to that value (known as a drill down). The contents of each drill down table can be downloaded by clicking the Download button at the top of the drill down window. To download records for the entire chart, click the (⠇) button in the upper-right of each chart and click Download data.

Breakdowns of each chart, including its data set(s) and how its metrics are visualized, can be found in the help articles for each dashboard, linked in the table above.

(3) Bookmarks

Bookmarking a dashboard saves that dashboard with any filters you have applied to it as a unique view so you can refer back to it later. Bookmarks are designed to allow you to easily access filtered dashboards that you check regularly without having to re-apply the filters. To bookmark a dashboard, click the Bookmark Dashboard button above the dashboard title.

Close up of bookmark being applied to a dashboard.

Once you have named and saved the bookmark, it will appear as a card in the bookmark bar running along the right side of the dashboard with the title and creation date listed on it.

The bookmarks listed in the bookmarks bar are specific to the dashboard you are viewing. For example, when viewing the Postings dashboard, only bookmarks you have saved for the Postings dashboard will be listed.

Click the View button on any bookmark to apply the saved filters to the dashboard. To exit a bookmarked view of dashboard, change the parameters in the filter(s) and click the reload button (⟳).

When viewing a bookmarked dashboard, you can rename or delete it using the buttons that appear above the dashboard title.

Close up of buttons above dashboard title with rename bookmark and delete bookmark buttons labelled.

Click Hide Bookmarks in the upper-right corner to collapse the bookmarks bar.

Use relative date range filters (instead of absolute dates) when bookmarking to review metrics with a retroactive cadence. For example, saving a bookmark with a date range filter 'is in the last 90 days' will always limit the data set to the 90 days prior to the date the bookmark is viewed.

(4) Pages

Some dashboards are divided into subsections related to a specific aspect of the dashboard subject. Navigate between pages by selecting the tabs above the dashboard title. Keep in mind that some dashboard pages may only be available with certain Lever packages or add-ons.

Libraries and sharing

The Libraries & Saved Reports section of Visual Insights contains all recurring shared dashboards in your organization's LeverTRM environment. You can navigate to the Libraries and Sharing section by clicking the book icon in the left-side navigation.

Sharing dashboards

You can share a dashboard with other Lever users by clicking the Share Dashboard button above the dashboard title.

Arrow pointing to Share Dashboard button above Pipeline dashboard.

When a dashboard is shared, the recipient receives a point-in-time snapshot of the dashboard, reflective of any filters applied at the time of sharing, as an image file via email. When sharing a dashboard, you can configure the delivery cadence as one-time or recurring (daily, weekly, or monthly), as well as the image file format (PDF, PNG, or JPG).

Use recurring deliveries in conjunction with dynamic date ranges to circulate dashboards to match your regular reporting cadence. For example, sharing a dashboard with the date range filter "is in the last 7 days" and a weekly delivery recurrence will automatically send a report of the previous week's metrics to the recipients at the scheduled date and time.

Shared dashboard libraries

Dashboards are organized into three libraries - All shared dashboards, My shared dashboards, and Dashboards shared with me.

All shared dashboards library in Libraries and Saved Reports section.

All shared dashboards Lists all shared dashboards with a recurring delivery schedule in your organization's LeverTRM environment.
My shared dashboards Lists shared dashboards with a recurring delivery schedule that you have shared with other users.
Dashboards shared with me Lists shared dashboards with a recurring delivery schedule  that have been shared with you by another user.

Super Admins and Admins have access to all three libraries. Team Members only have access to the My shared dashboards library. Dashboards shared (either by you or with you) as a one-time delivery to do not appear in the library.

Each shared dashboard is represented by a card in the library listing the report's title, file format, delivery schedule and recipients. You can modify the delivery details of a shared dashboard by clicking the corresponding card to open the delivery editor. To end the circulation of a dashboard that you are sharing, click the trash can icon to the right of the card.

Exports

From the Exports section of Visual Insights, users can download the raw data from your organization's LeverTRM environment. You can navigate to the Exports section by clicking the download icon () in the left-side navigation and selecting an export from the menu that appears.

By default, only users with Super Admin access can download exports from a LeverTRM environment. Admins and Team Members can be granted the ability to download all or specific exports if their permissions are configured as such by a Super Admin.

Example: Interviews and Interview calibration export generator

Available exports include:

  • Opportunities
  • EEO/OFCCP
  • Feedback
  • Interviews
  • Job postings
  • Offers
  • Referrals
  • Requisitions
  • Surveys

To learn how to run an export and read descriptions of what information each export contains, check out our Visual Insights: Exports help article.

Settings

To access Settings in Visual Insights, click the gear icon (⚙) in the left-side navigation. From the Settings section, you can configure how metrics such as time to hire and time to fill (if your Lever package includes requisition management) are calculated across your dashboards. To learn more, refer to our help article on configuring the time to hire calculation and our help article on configuring the time to fill calculation.

Setup Time to Hire calculation tile in Visual Insights Settings.

You can also opt in to data-sharing by flipping the Benchmarks toggle to the 'On' position. Opting in to data-sharing will allow Super Admins and Admins to access the Talent Acquisition Benchmarks dashboard. The charts on the Talent Acquisition Benchmark dashboard compare key performance indicators from your LeverTRM environment with industry standards, established using the data from all other LeverTRM environments that have opted in to data sharing.

Visual Insights configuration toggles in Settings.

Note that all recruitment data shared with Lever for the purpose of establishing benchmarks is anonymized and aggregated. For more information on Lever's data handling policy, refer to the documentation in our Privacy Center.
