When publishing postings to job boards, you have the ability to include salary range information with your job postings. Properly configuring your salary range helps to ensure that your postings get published to job boards with accurate information and are discoverable to job seekers.
How job boards ingest postings from Lever
When ingesting a posting from Lever, job boards read the following fields from the posting:
- Job title
- Location type - on-site, hybrid, or remote
- Location
- Department/team
- Job description
- Salary range
The contents of these fields dictate the search criteria by which the posting will be discoverable on the job board. For details on the information you can include in these fields, refer to our help article on creating job postings.
Configuring salary range when creating postings
|
'Salary range' fields are optional by default, regardless of the posting's location. It is the responsibility of the posting creator to determine if their job posting is required to include salary information. |
You have the option to include a salary range along with a salary range description. If you opt to add the salary range on a posting, you must input minimum and maximum amounts, along with currency and payment interval. Using the salary range fields allows for this information to be rendered in the salary details section of the posting on job boards.
The salary section is optional. To include this section in your job posting, you must fill in the salary range fields. You will not be able to proceed with creating the job posting if you only fill in the description field.
Configuring currency
- If you use Lever's LinkedIn XML feed, note that LI currently accepts salary data for the following markets (and related currencies): "ca", "us", "gb", "ie", "au".
- Lever's LinkedIn integration does not support salary information for EU job postings. If the salary range fields are configured using "EUR" as the currency, LinkedIn will not ingest or display the salary information fields.
Configuring salary interval
Some intervals are not supported certain job boards. Specifically:
- LinkedIn does not support the 'bi-monthly' payment interval.
- Indeed does not support the 'semi-monthly', 'bi-monthly', 'one-time', and 'bi-weekly' payment intervals.
Configuring salary range description
If you opt to include salary information in the 'Job description' field of your posting instead of the dedicated salary range fields, note that the salary information will not be rendered in the salary details section of the posting as it appears on the job board. This may negatively impact the discoverability of your postings, for job seekers searching by salary range.
- Note that both LinkedIn and Indeed will not accept the salary range description as part of their salary fields. If the salary description field is populated, it will be appended to the actual job description on these job boards.
- Job boards that scrape job postings may not always pick up the salary fields.
On your Lever-hosted job site, salary range information will be displayed before the job posting's closing information. To optimize readability of postings on your Lever-hosted job site, the salary range description text appears in a smaller font.
