Widgets are the building blocks of your site. In this article, you will learn about the different types of social widgets that you can add to your career site. For guidelines on how to use widgets on your career site, including adding and editing widgets, refer to our widgets overview article. Click below to reveal the full list of social widget types:

Instagram feed

Users with a private or public Instagram account (not business accounts) can add an Instagram feed to the photo gallery widget. The widget displays up to 100 images from your feed, and updates automatically when new posts are added. Note that new image updates may take up to 2 hours to display. The Instagram widget only displays photos from accounts that are public. To change the account, open the connected photo gallery, click Disconnect, and log in with the new account. Only one Instagram account may be connected per site.

Content editor

To add Instagram content to the Photo Gallery widget:

  • Add the Photo Gallery widget to your site
  • Click Connect Instagram
  • Type your Instagram credentials, and click Log In
  • Click Authorize

If you receive an error logging in, go to instagram.com in your browser. On the 'Profile' tab, click the 'Settings' icon, select Sign-Out, and then follow the steps above to reconnect to the widget.

Image captions

Image captions display when hovering on an image. To display image captions, click the 'On' or 'Off' toggle on the 'Content' tab of the Photo Gallery widget. The default is Off. You can also change the color, size, and font of the text as well as the background color of the image captions in the 'Design' tab. Not, this functionality is only available on Desktop as hover functionality is not available for mobile.

Design editor

To configure the design of your photo gallery widget with Instagram, refer to the 'Photo gallery widget' section in our media widgets help article.

WhatsApp widget

The WhatsApp widget enables visitors to get in touch with site owners quickly and easily, especially on mobile. Opportunities for engagement and conversion will increase, making it easier to convert anonymous site visitors into real applicants. When site visitors click the WhatsApp button, a chat opens on their device. On mobile, the widget opens in the user’s WhatsApp account. On desktop, the WhatsApp web version opens. Make sure the phone number you add has a WhatsApp account associated with it. If a site visitor does not have WhatsApp installed on their device, they will be directed to WhatsApp’s installation flow. If a user clicks on the widget from an iOS tablet, they will be directed to a WhatsApp page that directs them to download the app on desktop or mobile.

  • Right-click the widget, and click Edit Content
  • Enter your WhatsApp phone number; make sure the number has only digits and includes the country code

Social share widget

Making it easy for visitors to share your site is important for boosting organic traffic and conversion rates. The Share widget makes this easy, with a smooth flow, attractive interface, and an additional share capability. The Share widget enables site visitors to share the site via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and email. This widget enables visitors to share your site through their own social accounts. It is not connected to the social accounts associated with the site. For information about connecting a site to your social accounts, see the 'Social icons' section above.

Design editor

Troubleshooting

Set up social share icons, but the image does not display on social networks when pasting the site URL.

The social network has already scraped information from the site URL and is caching the information for a certain amount of time. This will update eventually, but to work around the issue, ensure your social network images are updated correctly on your site:

  • In the side panel of the editor, click Settings, and then click Site Icons
  • Next to Social Networks Image (Open Graph), click + Image
  • Alternatively, you can change the social network images by page:
    • In the left panel, click Pages, and then click the settings icon (⛭) next to the page name
    • Click SEO, and then next to Social Networks Image (Open Graph), click + Image
  • Go to the Facebook and Instagram debuggers to copy the URL of your site and fetch the new information.

It may take some time for the cache to update with the new information.

Twitter feed

The Twitter feed connects with your Twitter account and automatically displays new messages on your site every time you tweet. Social media is a great way for candidates to keep updated with your business. Be sure to connect your business Twitter account and not your personal Twitter account.

Content design

To access the content editor:

  • Right-click the widget, and click Edit Content
  • To connect to your account, type your Twitter user name
  • Select the type of Twitter Feed from the drop-down
  • To display the header and footer, click the 'Show header and footer' toggle.

Design editor

  • Right-click the widget, and click Edit Design
  • Select the Number of tweets to display from the drop-down

Facebook feed

A Facebook feed is a great way to give your visitors a glimpse into your Facebook community, invite them to join your followers or prompt them to contact you via Facebook Messenger. In order for your page’s feed to be displayed, the page must not be restricted. Any restriction, for example, login required, age or location, will prevent the page from being displayed in the widget. To learn more about Facebook page restrictions, see Facebook’s guide.

Content editor

To access the content editor:

  • Right-click the widget, and click Edit Content
  • Type the Facebook Page URL in the field provided. You do not have to paste the entire link (for example, https://www.facebook.com/facebook). The page ID is enough (for example, facebook).

  • Select which tabs you want to display: Timeline, Events, Messages.

Facebook 'Like' button

Make it easy for your visitors to see your likes and like you on Facebook by adding a Facebook 'Like' button. Become more connected with your customers and visitors through social media. The Facebook 'Like' button will not appear for users who are not logged in to Facebook. Make sure the page is public, otherwise the functionality will not work.

Content editor

To access the content editor, right-click the widget, and click Edit Content. Type the feed URL in the field provided.

Design editor
