This article provides a breakdown of how fields are mapped between Lever and UKG Pro Onboarding (formerly known as UltiPro Onboarding) when new hire data is transferred. Readers of this article will learn about...
- Opportunity profile field mapping
- Requisition field mapping
- Profile form field mapping
- Offer form field mapping
- Custom field mapping
Before proceeding, we recommend reading our help article on how to set up and use the UKG integration. Also note that the UKG integration requires a Lever package that includes requisition management (applicable packages are listed at the top of this article).
Opportunity profile field mapping
Here is a breakdown of how fields are passed from the opportunity profile in Lever to the new hire record in the UKG Pro Onboarding module:
Lever Field | UKG Field | Notes |
Name | First Name† | Full name is split by a space, and then the first value is returned and captured. |
Name | Last Name† | Full name is split by a space, and then the last value is returned and captured. |
Email† | If more than one email is listed in Lever, the top-listed email will be passed. | |
Phone | Primary Phone | Mobile phone number is extracted first. If no mobile phone number is present, the top-listed phone number is passed. |
Phone | Secondary Phone | Home phone number is extracted first. If no home phone number is present, the phone number following the mobile or top-listed listed phone number is passed. The Primary Phone value will not be duplicated. |
†Required value |
In the image below, you can see where these fields are located on the opportunity profile in Lever.
Requisition field mapping
The UKG integration allows you to create the following custom requisition fields in your Lever environment:
- UltiPro Onboarding Owner
- UltiPro Component Company Code
- UltiPro Job Code
- UltiPro Employee Type
- UltiPro Work Location
- UltiPro <ORG 1 NAME>
- UltiPro <ORG 2 NAME>
- UltiPro <ORG 3 NAME>
- UltiPro <ORG 4 NAME>
In the image below, you can see where the custom fields are located in your Requisition settings:
|
The use of "UltiPro" in the fields listed above (and throughout this article) refers to the previous name of UKG's onboarding product. Although you will still see the name "UltiPro" when using these fields in Lever, note that there has been no functional change to how these fields work with the UKG integration. |
Not only will the integration generate these custom fields, it will also manage the drop-down options for each field, syncing values directly from your UKG environment on a daily basis. During integration setup, you can specify on the setup form which fields you would like to sync. For more details on the setup process, refer to our help article on setting up and using the UKG Pro Onboarding integration.

Custom field mapping
If you capture new hire information in your Lever environment outside of the areas listed above and you would like that information passed to your UKG Pro Onboarding module, be sure to mention it on the setup form when setting up the integration. The Lever team can investigate the potential to adjust the mapping configuration to accommodate those fields. Note that UKG limits the ability to populate standard fields for an onboarding record and information cannot be passed from Lever to custom fields in UKG.
