The Pipeline dashboard provides you with a clear line of sight into the status of your organization's talent pipeline. The Pipeline dashboard is useful for gauging trends in metrics related to candidate movement and volume such as stage conversion rates and average time to hire. Accessing the Pipeline dashboard

To access the Pipeline dashboard:

  • Navigate to Visual Insights via the platform header

  • Click the chevron (>) on the left side of the page to expand the dashboard list 
  • Select Pipeline from the dashboard list

Navigating the Pipeline dashboard

The Pipeline dashboard is segmented into pages, each containing charts that will give you insight into a different dimension of your pipeline data. Move through the pages by selecting the tabs running along the top of the dashboard.

The Advanced Analytics add-on is required in order to access the Advanced page.

Metrics on the Pipeline dashboard are visualized in different types of charts. Below, you will find a description of each chart and how its metrics are calculated. Note that each metric listed is sensitive to the values in the filters above the dashboard. Also keep in mind that data associated with confidential job postings is excluded from the charts. You can export the data from any chart by hovering over the top-right corner, clicking the ⠇ icon, and selecting Download data.

Filters can be be mixed and matched to hone in on specific data sets on any given dashboard. Once you have selected or input values to the filters, you must click the ⟳ button to apply the filters to the data on the dashboard. It may take a few seconds for the dashboard to refresh with your applied filters. The colors used on all Visual Insights charts are ADA compliant for red, green, and blue color blindness as well as monochromacy.

Pipeline

The Pipeline page contains charts that provide you with insight the overall health of your pipeline in terms of candidate volume and pipeline speed.

These metrics can be found in the tiles arranged at the top of the Pipeline page.

Opportunities created The count of opportunities created within the date range.
Opportunities advanced The count of distinct opportunities that moved forward in the pipeline within the date range. Opportunities advanced multiple times within the date range are only counted once.
Avg. time in pipeline

The average number of days opportunities spend in the pipeline, calculated as:

  [Total # of days in pipeline spent by active opportunities within in the date range]  
  [Total # of opportunities active in the pipeline within the date range]  
Average time to hire

The average number of days it takes to hire an opportunity, calculated as:

  [Sum of time to hire for all opportunities hired within the date range]  
  [Total # of opportunities hired within the date range]  

 

Time to hire is determined by the start and end points configured in the Time to Hire Wizard in your Visual Insights Settings. By default, time to hire is measured using the date an opportunity was created as the start point and the date that opportunity was archived as 'Hired' as the end point. Opportunities archived The count of opportunities archived within the date range, excluding those archived as 'Hired.'

Opportunities created by origin

This chart shows the percent and count of opportunities created by origin. Use this chart to understand the distribution of candidates across inbound and outbound recruitment categories.

Opportunities hired by origin

This chart shows the percent and count of opportunities hired by origin. Use this chart to determine which inbound and outbound recruitment categories yield the largest number of hired candidates.

Average time to hire

This chart shows how the average number of days it takes for your team to hire a candidate has changed over time, overlaid on the number of candidates hired in the corresponding timeframe. Note that this chart is affected by how the time to hire calculation has been configured for your Lever environment. To learn more, refer to our help article on configuring time to hire.

Stage conversions

This chart provides a visualization of all pipeline movements that occur for within the date range, including advances, regressions, hires, and archives. Use this chart to determine the steepest drop-off points in your talent funnels, and vet for any candidates moving backward in the pipeline.

Average time in stages

This chart shows the average number of days opportunities spend in each stage of the pipeline. Use this chart to identify stages that are slowing down the candidate journey.

Average time in stages for hires

This chart shows the average number of days it takes to hire an opportunity, broken down by pipeline stage. Use this chart to look for trends related to speed in the journey of hired candidates. 'How do my opportunities move through the pipeline?' chart

This table shows the conversion rates for advanced, archived, hired, and regressed movements in the pipeline. Each row in the table corresponds to a stage. Each column pair shows the percentage of distinct opportunities that were advanced, archived, hired, or regressed from that stage as well as the number of movements making up that percentage. Click to drill down into the chart values in order to view details about the cohorts of candidates that underwent different types of movement throughout the pipeline.

How do my opportunities move through the pipeline chart

Pipeline opportunity volume

This chart shows the pipeline distribution of new, active, and historical opportunities during the date range, broken down by stage:

  • Opportunities count toward a stage's 'New opportunity' count if they if were created during the date range and entered that stage during the date range.
  • Opportunities count towards a stage's 'Active opportunity' count if they were created before or during the date range, entered that stage within the date range, and were not archived before the end of the date range.
  • Opportunities count towards a stage's 'Historical opportunity' count  if they were created before or during the date range, entered that stage within the date range, and were archived before the end of the date range.

Use this chart to assess how much of your overall pipeline volume is made up of recently created candidates.

The Advanced Analytics add-on is required in order to access the Advanced page.

The Advanced page contains charts that show group-level breakdowns of candidate volume and pipeline speed, as well as more granular details about pipeline and archive movements.

Opportunities created by groups

This chart shows the percent and count of opportunities created within the date range, pivoted by a specified parameter (such as posting or department). Use this chart to get a breakdown of the volume of candidates entering your pipeline across different categories.

Calculation The sum of the average time to hire for each group divided by the total number of hired opportunities in the group over time. The starting date is the creation date of the opportunity and the ending date is the date the opportunity was archived as hired, unless start and end dates have been otherwise configured in your Lever environment's time to hire wizard.

Archived opportunities breakout

This table shows the percent and count of archived opportunities by archive reason and stage. Opportunities are counted if archived within the date range. Use this table to understand where and why candidates are being archived throughout your pipeline.

Conversion of advanced movements

This table shows the conversion rates from and to stages for advanced movements in the pipeline. Pipeline movements are counted if they occurred within the date range. Use this table to identify which of your recruitment/interview processes may be in need of optimization, based on the forward conversion rates of the stages at which they occur.

Conversion of moved back movements

This table shows the conversion rates from and to stages for moved back movements in the pipeline. Pipeline movements are counted if they occurred within the date range. Use this table to locate points in your talent funnel where candidates are being regressed in their recruitment journey. Process that take place at stages with a high percentage of regressed movements may be in need of recalibration.

 

Click the colored dots along the bottom of multi-value charts to add or remove groups from the visualization. Hold the Alt key (or the Option key on a Mac) when clicking a dot to filter for that group only.
