Lever's integration with LinkedIn Recruiter lets you export candidates directly from LinkedIn to Lever, so you can spend less time on data entry, and more time sourcing! Candidates are added with all of their historical InMails and Notes so you can see every interaction the candidate has had with your recruiting team.

This article will cover the two ways that you can export candidates directly from LinkedIn Recruiter to Lever. For instruction on how to enable this integration, refer to the following article:

As of July 1st, 2020, LinkedIn will no longer support IE 11 browser. This will impact all customers who leverage IE 11 for RSC and Apply with LinkedIn. For the best experience, LinkedIn advises customers to switch to one of LinkedIn's supported browsers.

Method 1: 1-Click Export

When viewing a candidate in Recruiter, click the ellipses (...) next to the profile and select Export to ATS.

This will open an export frame on the right-hand side of the screen. Select Lever and search for the appropriate job name.

In this case, the recruiter is sourcing for a Product Designer role, so their entry looks like this:

Once you have selected the relevant job posting, click Export to send the candidate to Lever. The candidate profile will be created with an opportunity for the selected posting and will be added to the New Lead section of the pipeline with the following fields populated:

  • First & last name
  • Employer Name
  • LinkedIn URL
  • Headline
  • Location
  • ...and any Recruiter Notes or InMails

LinkedIn has released the ability to disable the 1-Click Export feature of RSC to customers on their New Recruiter and Jobs platform. This feature is "on" by default when a company enables the LinkedIn RSC integration. If your company has chosen to disable this feature, the 1-Click Export option will not appear to you on LinkedIn profiles. To check whether the 1-Click Export feature is enabled for your company, navigate to Product Settings in LinkedIn Recruiter, select Advanced > ATS Integration and click Edit under Lever. For more information, refer to LinkedIn's Help Center documentation.

Method 2: InMail Response

When a candidate receives a new InMail from you, they will see options to reply:

If they select Yes, they will be presented with the option to respond by sharing their e-mail and phone number:

When a candidate selects Yes, please share, a candidate profile is automatically created in Lever with the following fields populated:

  • First and last name
  • Location
  • E-mail Address + Phone number (if provided by the candidate)
  • Position
  • ...and any Recruiter Notes or InMails

If the candidate already exists in Lever and has been LinkedIn Recruiter connected, any new InMails will be synced to their existing profile.

If the candidate selects No thanks in response to your InMail, no action will be taken in Lever. Similarly, if the candidate selects No, don't share on the Share your contact info? modal (shown above), no information about the candidate will be passed to Lever.

LinkedIn has released the ability to disable the InMail profile creation feature of RSC to customers on their New Recruiter and Jobs platform. This feature is "on" by default when a company enables the LinkedIn RSC integration. If your company has chosen to disable this feature, candidate profiles will not be created for candidates that consent to the sharing of their contact information via InMail. To check whether the InMail profile creation feature is enabled for your company, navigate to Product Settings in LinkedIn Recruiter, select Advanced > ATS Integration, click Edit under Lever and check the Inmail stub profile API setting.
