Lever sends notifications to users via email to ensure that stakeholders are appropriately aware and involved at every stage of the recruitment process. This article outlines the different types email notifications sent by Lever and how (if possible) they can be configured.

System-level email notifications

System-level emails are sent to a user when an action is required on their part in order to move a recruitment process forward. It is not possible to disable system-level email notifications, however they can be deflected or triaged by setting up custom email filters for your work email inbox. Refer to the table below for descriptions of the events for which system-level emails are sent from Lever.

Notification event Description
Scheduled interviews When an interview is scheduled with a candidate, all interviewers on the interview panel receive an email.
Feedback reminders If feedback reminders have been configured for a scheduled interview, all interviewers on the interview panel receive email notifications after the interview (in accord with the cadence selected for reminders when the interview was scheduled) reminding them that they need to submit feedback. Reminder emails cease once the interviewer has submitted their feedback.
@-mentions If a user is @-mentioned in a note by another user, they receive an email containing the note and an access link for candidate profile to which the note was added. To learn more, refer to our help article on adding and managing notes.
Approval requests Users listed as approvers of offers, requisitions, and postings that have been submitted for approval receive an email containing details about the item submitted for approval. The email also contains buttons to either approve, reject, or inquire about the item.
Requisition approval Users listed as the 'Requisition owner' of requisitions that have been approved receive an email notifying them of the approval.
Automation workflows Automation workflows can be used to automatically send emails to users within a Lever environment when triggered by a specific activity. To learn more, refer to our help article on setting up email automations.

 

Account-level email notifications

Account-level emails are sent to a user based on the email notification preferences that they configured in their account settings (navigate to Settings > My account and scroll to 'Email notifications'). Account-level email notifications are designed to give users visibility into activities on which they wish to keep tabs. Refer to the table below for a breakdown of the events for which you can enable/disable email notifications. Note that users with Interviewer level access can only configure notifications for events marked with an asterisk (*).

Interview events
Interview reminder* Receive email notifications for your upcoming interviews.
Interview RSVP* Receive email notifications when interviewers respond to interviews that you have scheduled.
Followed opportunities
New opportunities report Receive a daily email summarizing new opportunities associated with postings that you follow.
Notes Receive an email notification when a note is added to an opportunity that you follow and the author of the note checks the 'Notify followers' checkbox. You will still receive email notifications for notes in which you are @-mentioned, even if you disable this notification.
New hires and pipeline changes Receive a daily email summarizing which of your followed opportunities were advanced, hired, or archived.
Owner change Receive email notifications when opportunities that you follow change owners.
Interviews scheduled Receive email notifications when interviews are scheduled or rescheduled in association with opportunities that you follow.
Feedback or Form completed Receive email notifications when another user in your Lever environment completes feedback or attaches a form to the opportunities that you follow.
Hired referrals* Receive email notifications when candidates you referred are hired in association with the posting for which you referred them.
Owned postings
New application Receive email notifications when candidates apply to postings that you own.
New referral Receive email notifications when users in your Lever environment refer candidates for postings that you own.
Archiving Receive email notifications when users in your Lever environment archive opportunities in association with postings that you own.
Offers
Sent Receive email notifications when offers on which you are either an Approver or Signatory are sent to candidates.
Signed Receive email notifications when offers on which you are either an Approver or Signatory are signed by candidates.
Declined Receive email notifications when offers on which you are either an Approver or Signatory are declined by candidates.
Approved Receive email notifications when offers on which you are either an Approver or Signatory are approved by another user in the approval chain.
Rejected Receive email notifications when offers on which you are either an Approver or Signatory are rejected by another user in the approval chain.
Compliance
Data requests Receive a weekly email summary of candidates, associated with opportunities that you own, that have requested a copy of their data. To learn more, refer to our data requests help article.
Expiring consent Receive a weekly email summary of candidates, associated with opportunities that you own, whose consent is scheduled to expire within 7 days. To learn more about candidate consent, refer to our GDPR help article.
Candidates that need to be anonymized Receive a weekly email summary of candidates, associated with opportunities that you own, whose personally identifiable information needs to be anonymized. To learn more, refer to our help article on anonymizing candidates.

 

All account-level email notification event are also recorded in your in-app Lever inbox. To access your Lever inbox, click the bell icon beside your avatar in the upper-right of the platform header.
